Industries > Mobile Applications
In the last few years, the mobile device industry has undergone radical change. Not only have devices made tremendous advances in power, reliability and ease of use, they also have transformed smart phones into more versatile “personal internet and media devices.” Additionally, the structure of the mobile industry has changed dramatically. The dominance of mobile carriers over devices, content and applications is diminishing, resulting in exciting developments such as open operating systems, user-generated content and app stores.
Greater Boston is a mobile technology hub; companies range from device manufacturers and infrastructure architects to advertising networks and mobile application developers. eE has been an integral contributor to the mobile arena since the technology’s early days. Over the years, the company has evolved along with the industry and its clients’ requirements. Today, eE develops a wide array of groundbreaking mobile applications, from apps and widgets to cloud-based systems and integrated, enterprise-scale solutions.

uLocate is North America’s leading publisher of mobile location-based services. The company’s cross-carrier location platform enables the rapid deployment of innovative handset- and network-based applications. uLocate partners with a broad range of leading carriers, mobile virtual network operators and leading consumer brands to bring location-based applications to mobile subscribers.
For uLocate, eE created a collection of widget applications in ASP.NET for the where.com platform. These widgets allow any user with a GPS-enabled phone to find location-based information including weather, news, restaurants and
customer reviews. During development, we used phone emulators to test these widgets internally, and in the field we used the physical phone-testing platform DeviceAnywhere.
